Cake's TV Must Sees

I'm very excited about the second series of Damages, having been one of a very exclusive club of devotees to the first.

With the magnificent Glenn Close as the Machiavellian lawyer, Patty Hewes, and Rose Byrne as her young protegee, Ellen Parsons, the first series took us on a rollercoaster of twists and turns told through an intricate web of flashback, present and fast forward. It was a very clever device that left you scrambling to try to work out what actually happened when.

Thoroughly recommended from Sunday night 15th February at 10.20pm on BBC1.

I am also very much looking forward to the second series of Mistresses which begins this Tuesday 17th February at 9pm on BBC1.

Sarah Parish, Sharon Small, Shelley Conn and Orla Brady reprise their roles as good friends Katie, Trudi, Jessica and Siobhan in the hugely popular drama series from last year.

According to the BBC's website: It has been 12 months since we left Katie, Trudi, Jessica and Siobhan and, despite all their personal trials, their friendship remains as strong as ever.

Struggling to learn from their past mistakes, the thirty-something women face new dilemmas, though the root of their problems remain the same – men and sex!

Will they ever find true happiness?

Enjoy!

I don't watch much TV anymore unless there are aliens involved or home renovating but anything with Glenn Close in it could qualify especially after Mars Attacks.

Happy Valentines Day

I am a devotee of both shows. I am sooooo looking forward to their arrival, especially Damages. Glenn Close is my favourite female villain, and I must confess that a greying (some would say "white") Ted Danson was rather scrummy in a bad way too!

I also loved the first series of Mistresses, in part because it was filmed in Bristol, a place I am rather familiar with! :D

I wish I could get into the habit of watching television. Somehow I never do, and I also have piles of unwatched DVD's. What on earth do I DO with my time??

Damages clashes with the Sunday Night Project, so I will have to catch up with it some other time.

I may be able to catch Mistresses to see if it lives up to all the hype.

To be honest I spend so much time sitting at this computer that I rarely get the chance to do anything other than...you know. ;)

Will they find happiness? What a question! Don't you find the emotional roller-coastering of such shows exhausting, Mrs Cake?

Both must-see television for me too.

My only concern is that, for reasons completely beyond my control, I missed the final two episodes of "Damages". I had a run-down from The Beloved at the time but, to be honest, I'm still a little befuddled.

How on earth will I cope with the new series?
