I'm glad you were able to pick up where my year left off. I had no idea Star Trek was developed that early in the 60s. Really makes you appreciate everything that was going on around you while you were sucking your thumb. I know I learned alot about my year.

Happy MM!

I have no memory of 1961 because I was only one, but was this YOUR year, Cake? As Buzz Kill said, I had no idea our Star Trek was actually being discussed this early in the decade. Happy Mute Monday!!

Those space chimps were real pioneers, they don't get enough credit.

Troll - I wanted to do 1986 because it was very eventful but I thought there were a few youngsters who would have that as their own birth year :)

Buzz - Although it didnt come into production until the mid-60s, the ideas were all in Gene's head. As you say, it really makes you think about the things that happened which might have precluded one's life expectancy somewhat if it had gone the other way

Boxer! Am I younger than you too?

Mr Bananas - I really enjoyed reading about the courageous Ham

Miss Scarlet - That clip is really informative isnt it!

Boxer, Now I understand your comment better! I dont think my year is anywhere near finished yet and I think Id prefer a more cut and dried ending to the current one :)

How on earth did those huge prams become fashionable? I have some extremely sad photies of myself in one.

Joanna Cake said...

Moi - It's amazing the history that we forget/dismiss because it happened in our lifetime!

Jimmy - Those Silver Cross prams are still fashionable. They are the Rolls Royce of baby buggies :)

Rolls Royce of prams fae the wee babies? Och nooo... surely no.
