HNT - Pinky and Perky

No, not the cuddly pig puppets of a previous generation but something equally as naughty.

Last week you got my right boob and this time it's the left.

In my teens, I could quite happily (and very frequently would) go around bra-less, often in diaphanous blouses which did nothing to disguise this fact, and I passed 'the pencil test' for many years.

The advent of my anorexia left me with so many body issues that I hid everything away under big, shapeless clothing and the girls very rarely saw the light of day other than for breast feeding purposes.

However, having suckled two kids, the dynamic duo still exhibit a definite perkiness and, since I took the first steps out of the darkness, I've become very proud of them.

OK, so when I lie down these days, it's a bit like the Cold War with them both going for an East/West divide and trying to disappear under my armpits but, hey, you can't have everything at my age!

And, for one so small everywhere else, when I am upright they are still totally boobtastic. Like my bottom, it has taken me over two decades to full appreciate them so I thank my Ruf for helping me to understand and enjoy them properly.

In Trinny and Susannah: The Great British Body last week, there were lots of incredibly brave ladies who removed their bras to show the effects of breast cancer. One lady with a totally flat chest and no nipples from her double mastectomy and the chicken fillets she uses to give her back her shape under a blouse. Another with the scars of her reconstruction after losing one breast to the disease. Both these ladies had come to terms with their loss in their different ways but their sheer joy at still being alive had led them to accept and embrace their physical appearance.

T&S are at pains to help the rest of us to get back in touch with our bodies. To glory in them and not hide them away because of some perceived imperfection.

So, today, let's all love our bosoms!

  12. Life is so much easier when we are able to embrace our "imperfections."

I love your pictures and writing.

  14. I can see that you have a reason to be really proud of your breasts, and the rest of your body. Really sexy ones, the 'dynamic duo' ;)

  15. So glad that you are learning to appreciate Pinky & Perky!! I laughed out aloud when I read your line about the "pencil test" - I could pack a whole pencil case under mine now!! :D

As you know, I'm not shy about whipping my boobs out, and I will always encourage other women to love their breasts!!

  16. That's a great picture. But I'm coming to the conclusion I can't love my breasts when everybody else's are quite clearly better!

Loving boobs is easy for me but I'm pleased you can too :)

  18. I, for one, would love to love all women's bosoms, but they won't let me.

  19. I'm now 49, breastfed twice... and, as small my breasts were when I was in my 20's, as perky they are right now... ;-))I think there is some justice in that world, after all.. ;-))
    HHNT!

  20. It is interesting how it takes us so many years to fully appreciate our bodies.

    Happy HNT!

  21. Boobs are skin. Skin is sexy. Therefore boobs are sexy. (The transitive property... my daughter is a math teacher.) Yours are especially sexy!

  22. I once heard of a woman who'd had one breast removed using her empty bra cup to smuggle artifacts from Central America. Having hobbies and interests is probably a good way of coping with those kinds of tragedies.

  23. Can I just point out that Z is being economical with the truth. Hers are quite the equal, if not the best, of any I've encountered in the, er, flesh. So to speak.

Still, if she can't love them, I suppose it just leaves more for the rest of us.

  24. You have lovely breasts, honey. I do actually quite like mine, but I'm not sure I would ever have considered them 'perky'. I wish. I have to be satisfied with other adjectives like 'full', 'voluptuous', etc. It will do. :)
